Collection: U.S. Time Corporation

U.S. Time Corporation, the predecessor of Timex, traces its origins to the Waterbury Clock Company, founded in 1854 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Initially producing affordable, mass-market clocks, the company gained fame for its innovative and durable timepieces, including pocket watches and mantel clocks. In 1941, U.S. Time was formed from the remnants of Waterbury Clock, shifting its focus to military contracts during World War II, particularly producing bomb fuses and other precision devices. Post-war, the company leveraged its wartime expertise in durable components to create affordable wristwatches, including the iconic Timex brand, which was officially introduced in 1950. Known for their slogan, "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking," Timex watches became a global phenomenon, marking U.S. Time’s transformation into a leader in the mass-market watch industry.
